Tutors
How is my tutor selected?
All our tutors are thoroughly, personally interviewed by a member of our leadershup team, hold a DBS Enhanced check and are background /ID checked with references. We interview every tutor personally and only select those who we consider would provide you with an outstanding service. We select your tutor after your consultation, based on skills, qualifications, experience and personality. We have a rigorous safer recruitment process giving you the reassurance of knowing your students are safe with us.
What happens if I want to change my tutor?
If you are not happy with your selected tutor, the Agency will change the tutor with no further charge. A waiting period may be necessary to engage the replacement tutor, however we will endeavour to find a suitable replacement in as short a timeframe as possible.
Payments
How do fees and payments work?
There are package discounts available for termly bookings and these bookings are invoiced as an upfront payment. All other sessions are invoiced at the end of each month. Payment is due by the 27th of the month following invoice date. This timeline ensures Elite Tutors Sussex can meet its obligations to tutors in a timely manner.
The total lesson fees are made up of the Agency fee and the Tutor’s fee and VAT is added to the lesson charges.
Cancellations
Tutors are booked for ongoing lessons until a 2 term weeks’ notice (payable) is given to either the tutor or the Agency.
If a student is unwell or cannot attend, the tutor needs to be notified and the lesson is charged for until the 2 term weeks payable notice period has ended.
Cancellations without charge are not permitted, however you would not be charged for tutor sickness or tutor unattendance for any reason.
How do we keep track of lessons and payments?
You will be assigned an account with the Agency which a nominated person/s can have access to at any time. You can check lesson reports, have access to your lesson history, invoices and account balance 24/7.
How do I get the tutor and school / organisation to work together?
Please do share any relevant documentation with the Agency that would be helpful for the tutor to know. Your tutor can be put in communication with any professional and you can expect them to keep confidentiality and use any information for the student’s best interests.

Online lessons
We offer both in-person and online lessons. Our educators use a safe and secure platform which allows for engagement and interaction. Lessons are bespoke and meet the needs of each student whilst tapping into their interests and ambitions.
Our online lessons are recorded and we gain parental consent ahead of each assignment starting.
How do I add more lessons or change my lesson times?
Simply contact your tutor directly about this. They will then go ahead and make those changes for you, if they can accommodate your request.
How do I add more students?
Please contact the Agency directly about this and they will endeavour to help you to add any further students.
Safeguarding and Safer Recruitment
What safeguarding and safer recruiting measures are in place? We take safeguarding and safer recruitment seriously. All tutors are rigorously vetted through a full safer recruitment process including a DBS Enhanced check, interview, ID, address and qualifications checks, and a Teaching Prohibition Check. We have a dedicated DSL and DDSL, along with internal safeguarding reporting systems. Any concerns are passed to the school within a short timeframe. Our safeguarding policy is available to share at any time, and Letters of Assurance are available for schools on request.
